Male Body Fat - It's
Not Hard To Lose
Is male body fat different than female body fat? Technically
speaking, fat is fat. How fat is measured, however, does vary
depending on your gender. Women typically have a higher body
fat index than men do because women require more fat to help
with childbirth and other hormonal issues. The essential amount
of male body fat is between two and five percent while the
essential amount of female body fat is between ten and thirteen
percent.
So, guys, is your body fat index higher than you'd like it
to be? How can you get rid of your body fat or get your body
fat down to a healthy range?
The good news is that body fat is burned the same way for
men as it is for women. Here is how to get your male body fat
under control:
1. Change Your Diet
Eating a healthy and balanced diet is essential to helping
your body to reduce its body fat. You want to increase the
amount of natural foods you eat while decreasing the amount of
fatty foods you eat. Making your meals at home instead of
opting for fast food is an easy way to cut down on the amount
of saturated fat and unhealthy foods you eat. Another way to
make sure that the food you eat is good for you is to only eat
fresh fruits and vegetables and natural foods. Foods that are
canned, dried or pre-packaged are usually high in fat and
sugar.
2. Cut Your Calories
Talk to your doctor about what a healthy calorie intake is
for your height and desired body weight. You might also ask
your doctor about drastically cutting your calorie intake for a
week or two to jump start the fat burning process. If you burn
more calories than you take in you will lose weight. It is
simple math. If you burn a lot more calories than you take in,
your body will start to burn your body fat in an effort to keep
your energy level up. Be sure to talk to your doctor before you
do any calorie cutting!
3. Exercise!
It is important to get in a thorough workout on a regular
basis. Working only one area of your body is a great way to get
your body fat to relocate to somewhere not seeing as much
action, but it won't get rid of the body fat completely. The
best types of workouts for ridding your body of its body fat
involve aerobic exercise and strength training. These workouts
are great for burning calories and increasing your muscle
tone—both of which are needed to keep your body fat at bay.
These are just three hints to help get male body fat (and
female body fat) under control. These might seem too basic, but
you would be amazed by the sheer number of people who think
that the only thing you have to do to get rid of fat is sit
ups!
